It was fortunate for the Burgenhofs that their basement was completely sound proof. Despite her masochistic gratification at having pain inflicted upon her, Hippolyta was screeching at the top of her voice. In none of the other fights had she experienced anything like the agony that was caused by the battered, bloody, blonde hooker’s teeth sinking into the side of her right breast.

Up to that point in the proceedings, everything had gone pretty much as the Burgenhofs had planned. On his arrival at the Bijou Grande’s parking lot, the man had been able to obtain the same position for his Jeepster that he had used on his meeting with Mabel. He had kept a careful watch for any signs that the hooker had informed her employers of her fate. In his jacket pocket had been a snub-nosed Smith & Wesson Chief’s Special revolver, but that precaution had not been necessary.

Going to the alley, alert for the first hint of danger, Burgenhof had not been kept waiting long before Della Zekov had made an appearance. It had been with a sense of anticipation that he had approached her. All the time he had been going through the by-play of pretending to represent a rich business executive with a desire for secrecy, he had watched Della for the slightest warning that she knew what was coming. All he had seen was a similar reaction to that Mabel had shown. Completely fooled by his acting, the blonde had displayed the same thinly hidden amusement and derision. She had made only a token objection to accompanying him on his terms.

At the parking lot, she had addressed the envelope containing her fee. Although she had insisted on placing it in the mailbox herself, Bergenhof had contrived to read and memorize her name and address. That had been necessary so that he and Hippolyta could return her to her home after they were through with her. With the money safe in the hands of Uncle Sam, Della had obediently entered the Jeepster’s rear compartment and been transported to the house on Coolridge Avenue. For the added consideration of Emily Cochran’s wristwatch and bracelets, the blonde had removed her white blouse, mock leather mini skirt, calf high boots and jewelry, then donned the boxing gloves. Already stripped and equipped for the fray the boxing gloves having been fastened by her husband before he left to collect the girl Hippolyta had made her appearance on cue.

Like her predecessors, Della had started by protesting and insisting that she did not intend to fight. She too had been compelled to defend herself as best she could. Goaded by desperation, the blonde had helped to give the Burgenhofs some reasonable action before she had been knocked out by the more skilful Hippolyta. She had been left where she had fallen while the couple had sated their erotically inflamed passions. Then they had revived her and prepared her for the next part of their program.

In her weakened condition, Della had been no match for Hippolyta in the all-in fight.
