She found the rest of her party over at the gift shop mall on the opposite side of Elvis Presley Boulevard. Most had managed to take in the Elvis car museum and a tour of his private jet, the Lisa-Marie, in the time she had spent loitering in the main house and grounds. Perhaps she’d come back another day to see all that, but today she had no appetite for tacky souvenirs.

There was a hold-up before the mini-bus could set back off when they realised Sean was nowhere to be seen, but then someone said he’d told them he’d wanted to walk back to the motel and they were able to leave after all.

Back in her room, Daisy lay down on the bed fully clothed feeling utterly exhausted. The broken night’s sleep was catching up with her and she felt emotionally drained. No sooner had she closed her eyes than she fell fast asleep.
