CHAPTER 8

It had been two months since Jabril and Char’s breakup and Char was now 3 ½ months pregnant and the new grandmother of eight beautiful puppies that Princess surprised her with one late evening under her bed. Her clothing store’s grand opening was a success and the store was doing very well. Tiff was now 3 months pregnant. She and Char’s due dates were two weeks apart, which they both were happy about. Lisa was now in a rehab after overdosing on crack. She had heart failure and almost died. Jabril was still trying to apologize to Char, who for the time being is avoiding his apologies.

Char sat in the passenger seat of Rich’s 760i BMW. He’s come up to spend the weekend with her. When she told him about how she was pregnant, he told her he was still going to be there for her and he actually was making sure she took her pills and just spoiling her. Rich was a playboy and Char respected that because he was always straight up with her, and he looked out for her. He’d just signed a huge extension with is team so he dropped a bonus on her bank account. That put a smile on Char’s face that she was sure the baby in her stomach could feel the happiness. Rich opened the passenger side door letting Char out. They walked into the hair salon and all eyes were on them. Rich sat down enjoying the attention as Char went and sat down in Tiff’s chair. The owner Miss Keisha came over to Char and said, “Girl, he’s a diamond,” which made Char laugh. She knew what Miss Keisha was saying and she watched as the ladies flirted with Rich, which she didn’t mind because he was leaving with her. An hour later, she got out the chair looking great as Rich pulled out a couple C-notes (hundred dollar bills) and gave them to Tiff, who thanked him. He handed Char her Gucci purse and opened the door saying a sexy goodbye to all the staring ladies as he opened the door for Char. Fox’s Benz pulled up then his window rolled down as he saw the basketball star opening the car door to a tricked out Benz for Char to get in, and Fox actually was jealous as he saw the smile on Char’s face. He thought about running up on the ballplayer then killed that idea knowing it would be foolish. So instead, he got out the car. Just as the ballplayer shut Char’s door, he yelled . . .

Fox: Rich Jackson, yo, that’s you?

Rich: The one and only.

Fox: Yo, I’m a big fan. You think I can get an autograph?

Rich: No doubt, homie. What’s your name? Char grabbed one of those flyers from the glove box for me.

Fox: Queen Char, that’s your baby girl.

Rich: You know Char?

Fox: Yeah, she's cool peoples.

Rich: Yeah, she is. So what’s your name, homie?

Fox: Fox.

Char: How you been, Fox?

Fox: Hanging in there.
