Another point of view brought up within this wing expressed apprehension about the growing domination of al-Qathathfa17 tribe at the expense of the people’s authority system and the existence of the RCs:

The Revolutionary Committees are declining now, and there’s a new power growing up which does not represent the revolution at all.18Revolutionists who hold positions receive commands from this power, which seems to interfere in everything in this country. (Ibrahim, aged 29)

It can also be said that the low level of trust recorded for members of the revolutionary committees was due to the respondents’ belief that neither the General Popular Committees nor the General People’s Congress had the authority to make any decisions.

The only body I would trust is the BPC because it reflects the majority will; the others can’t be trusted or depended on to do what is right. They are crooked and they are there for themselves.
