I startled as soon as I felt the cold water in my lap. Seemed the kids running around the pool had gotten a little close and one had tossed a bucket of water. I’d somehow been caught in the middle of their chase and the result was a wet seat and wet bathing suit.

Seeing the kids reminded me of the dreams, more like nightmares, I’d just had about Colton when we were younger. While I wasn’t upset with the kids playing, I was upset at Colton for the things he’d done to me all those years ago. Every time I turned around, he was doing something to torment me and to know he’d somehow worked his way into my life again had me wondering what he was up to this time.

Back in my room, I tried to clear my head, telling myself that all the things that had happened back then needed to stay in the past. That Colton wasn’t like that anymore and I needed to let it go.
