Drawing Two Scenes at Once

During this time frame, I wrote about being in an unusual place with this art hobby. I could see tangible improvement in my results, which made me excited to draw more. But I was still struggling to come up with subject matter and found myself running out of ideas. I'll discuss idea generation in much more detail in the next chapter. For now, though, a natural direction for my brainstorming went like this: “Which family member or friend combinations have I not drawn yet?” At this point, I had featured my immediate family in many, and I had sketched my sister, mom, and granny. But I hadn't drawn most of my wife’s family, or very surprisingly, I also had not done one with just me and the two girls.
