Brenâs dad studied her when she walked into the house early on Christmas morning but didnât ask any questions.
âMerry Christmas, Dad,â Bren said cheerily as she walked into the kitchen and bent down to kiss his cheek.
âHappy Christmas,â he replied gruffly. âI was beginning to get worried.â
Bren looked at her watch.
âItâs barely half-past eight. I texted you to say that Iâd be home now.â
Her dad harrumphed as he wrinkled up his nose.
She was embarrassed that the smell of sex lingered on her body. Had her dad caught a whiff? She needed to get into the shower.
Her thoughts replayed this morning. She hadnât expected to stay all night, but they had fallen asleep in each otherâs arms, exhausted. Since arriving back in Bristol, she hadnât stayed out past midnight, let alone all night.
The pleasant soreness she felt on waking up from the multiple orgasms that had ripped through her body the previous night made her stomach flutter again with desire. She smiled at the memory.
She had so wanted to continue exploring in the shower what she and Marie had started when they had woken up earlier. But Bren knew if they showered together, it wouldnât stop there.
She was amazed at her self control when she gently halted Marieâs hands. She explained briefly to Marie that she helped to care for her father, and, as it was Christmas Day, she hadnât expected to wake up anywhere except her own bed. She had told the agency that she needed no help that day.
âAnother half-hour wouldnât hurt.â Marie had said invitingly as she stroked her fingers down her arm.
Bren smiled, covered Marieâs hand, and gently kissed her lips. âI donât think a half-hour is long enough to do everything I want us to do.â
She had slowly extricated herself from the tangle of arms and legs, telling Marie that she had to go home to make sure her dad had taken his medication. She remembered the disappointment on Marieâs face as she quickly dressed.
âWhat about you? What are your plans for today?â
âAll by myself with my microwave meal for one, the television or Netflix, and my case of lager.â
âNo family?â
âMy mum moved to the south coast with my stepdad to be closer to his elderly mother. She seems content with her second family. His kids donât accept me, but Iâm fine with that.â She huffed, âStuck up rich kids.â
âFriends? What about Helen and her girlfriend?â
âToo busy with their plans to worry about me. Thatâs what happens at our age when youâre single, and everyone else is in a relationship.â
âIf dad settles this afternoon, Iâll be able to get away for an hour or two. He doesnât like change, and today is different from what heâs used to.â Bren said as she rounded up her clothes. âWould you like me to pop around if I can?â
âDonât worry if you canât make it. Christmas is family time.â Marie shook her head in resignation. She had held out her arm for a final kiss and hug. âHave a good day with your father.
