THE ORGANISATION, FIJI AND ME

Although Terry Clark confessed to killing Greg Ollard and Julie Theilman to me in March 1978, when I was doing business with him in September 1977 – around the time he actually killed them – he never said a word to me about it. In fact if I remember correctly, during that period of time Clark actually seemed to be in good humour most of the time. I guess the comfort of knowing that two witnesses to his Konpira treachery were dead and buried, as well as the additional money he stood to make from Ollard’s share of the spoils, kept him in a good humour for months. I have racked my brains over the years and I cannot recall ever meeting Greg Ollard or his lady, Julie Theilman. As they were both heavy drug users, they would not have come into my social or business orbit. Back in those days I did not even smoke grass; my personal choice of self-destruction was alcohol, copious amounts of it.

Despite knowing all the facts as well as I do, I am still amazed that Clark managed to keep the murders of Greg Ollard and Julie Theilman away from me at that time. Had I known them, then their disappearance would have set alarm bells ringing with me. The chilling fact that Clark was able to do business with me unaffected by what he had done, demonstrates very clearly in my opinion, what a callous, coldblooded individual he was. Do not get me wrong, I am no pacifist. If someone hurt me or anyone I love or care about, I will not go to the police for justice. I have no qualms about dealing with people who have hurt anyone I love. They get no mercy from me. But I have never been an advocate, not even in my wildest years, of killing for no reason.

Loyalty was not one of Terry Clark’s strong points, however, as evidenced by his killing his old prison mate Greg Ollard as well as orchestrating the murders of his two supposed best friends, Marty Johnstone and Doug Wilson. Throughout his brief, murderous career, Clark made a habit of taking over drug markets set up by erstwhile friends of his. After murdering Greg Ollard, he assumed control of all Ollard’s dealers. It was Martin Johnstone who opened up the London drug markets through his connections there. By eliminating Johnstone – if fate had not intervened – Clark would have had control of the London markets. As for the thriving Sydney and Melbourne markets, I’ll talk more about them a little later. What I am trying to illustrate here was the cold-blooded treachery Clark used against all his so-called friends once they had established lucrative drug markets. Nobody was immune to his ruthless tactics, not even me. In September 1977, however, all that nastiness was still two years in the future. In between times there was a lot of drugs to sell, a lot of money
