The pupil may now make out a chart showing all the consonant strokes with their circles, loops, and hooks attached. Take a sheet of ruled paper and rule it with vertical lines, placing the consonants in the left-hand margin, always keeping the same consonant on the same line of writing all the way across. The first column may be used for the j circle and then go on with a column for each appendage. It should be corrected by the teacher.

An examination should now be given.
