Chapter 18

Central and I wound up holding each other until we passed out. I woke up to knocking at the door.

“Central, someone is at the door.” I whispered as I shook him. “Are you gonna get it?”

“What time is it?” he asked sleepily.

“Five o’clock.” I answered, not realizing it was that late.

“It’s room service bringing our dinner.” Central said grabbing his shirt and shorts. “I ordered a few different things. You better call and check on your kids.”

“They are with the sitter, and Sanders is working late.” I answered. “But I will call just to make sure.”

I dialed home as I put Central’s bathrobe on. The sitter said that the kids were eating and everything was good.

When I walked out in the dining area of his suite, he was already eating.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t wait. I was starving.” He said with a mouth full of food. “You better get ya grub on girl.”

As we finished up our meal, Central asked if I wanted to go to this little jazz club for a few drinks. It was in walking distance, so I agreed.

We got there and somehow, they already had a table reserved for us. It was a very nice upscale lounge. They brought our drinks right away, along with an autographed LSG CD.”

“How did you do this?” I said trying to contain my excitement.

“I have my ways.” He smiled as I heard the song, My Body begin to play.

“Oh, and you had them play my shit too?” I asked as I threw my hands in the air.

That’s when I heard a bunch of clapping. When I turned my head towards the small stage, I saw that the three of them were up there performing. The shit was live! I about lost it.

After the song, they came over and Central introduced us. They only stayed for a few minutes, but that was a memory that would last a lifetime.

“Was that enough of a surprise for you?” he asked laughing as he held me tightly.

“Hell yeah, but if you do anything bigger, I may have a damn heart attack!” I laughed.

We talked as we walked back to the hotel. I was really beginning to feel a connection to Central. I wasn’t sure if it was just because I was seeking attention, or if the feeling was genuine. I would tread slowly to find out.

“I know you have to get home, and I will be here for a couple of more days. How long will your girls be here?” he asked.

“I’m not sure. I sent them on an all day tour, so they should be back by now.” I answered. “They fly out tomorrow at four. Diamond’s husband is tripping about her staying gone so long, so they had to cut their visit short.”

“Okay, do you think you can get away after that?” he asked with a sneaky grin, like he was up to something. “Just until, let’s say, ten o’clock?”

“I’m anxious to see what you have up your sleeve.” I laughed. “I wouldn’t miss it.
