Betty stood before David, her dress in a pool of fabric at her feet. Her face burned even as she hoped he found her pleasing.
Besides, it’s not as if you had a child with this man.
She blinked and forced his comment away. She would dwell on it later and decide whether or not to confess the whole truth then. It brought her comfort that he didn’t mind she wasn’t a virgin. He didn’t see her as a slut or any less of a person, and best of all—he still wanted her as his wife.
He even loved her. Sort of. She didn’t quite understand how he could choose to love her, and she experienced a stab of guilt for not having professed her love for him in return. An ache pierced her head. She needed to stop thinking so much and allow herself to focus on the present. Opening her eyes, she met David’s impassioned stare and her insides went all aflutter. Heat pooled between her thighs at the predatory gleam in his eyes.
She could tell him the rest of her secret later. She didn’t wish to spoil this moment. After their perfect wedding night she would figure out how to confess the whole story of what had happened to her in Indiana, and why she never wished to return for even a brief visit.
“You are so beautiful.” He cupped her breasts, and she leaned into his caressing hands.
He unclasped her brassiere and pushed it down along with her girdle, taking her panties partway down too. He tried to push all of her undergarments below her knees, but her stockings bunched up and tangled, and she hobbled back onto the bed with a giggle.
“Blasted women’s underthings,” he muttered, helping her into the center of the mattress. He grinned and straddled her, pinning her arms above her head. “Hmm, I think I like you like this. Subdued and completely at my mercy.”
She wiggled and tried kicking her legs but her stockings were still tangled up with her undergarments. Breathless, she gazed up at David, her heart racing. He lowered his face to hers and claimed her lips, kissing her with a roughness that had her womb quivering. The ache in her feminine core deepened, and she lifted her center and pushed herself against his hardness. He growled into her mouth and broke away, freeing her wrists at the same time.
Entranced by his masculinity, she watched as he removed his jacket and unbuttoned his dress shirt, tossing both to the floor. His undershirt came next, and she ran her hands over his muscular chest, letting her fingers play through the dark hair covering his impressive physique.
He rolled off her and tugged his trousers and underwear off, revealing his naked manhood, so thick and long and nestled amidst a thatch of dark hair. She gulped and commenced wriggling out of her stockings and undergarments with his assistance. He threw the pile of clothing across the room and crawled atop her, once again pinning her down with her wrists held together above her head.
