Interviewer: Is there anything else you want to tell me, perhaps a question that I did not ask you?

Mineworker: I can say that what happened… we were killed for nothing. They were fighting us for our money. We were not fighting with management. We simply wanted to know when they were going to give us our money. Management thought it was better for them to call the government to come and kill us. There was something else going on there. No one can just kill without authority. There must have been a deal between our management and NUM… there was definitely a deal, because we were told to go underground. We won’t go underground until we get that money, R12 500. No one is striking, we only want that money. If they can come and give it to us now, we will go back to work. That’s it, there is nothing else. We just wanted management to say, ‘On such and such a date, we will give you your money,’ but instead, they fetched those police to kill us while we were not striking.
