Chapter 9

Fall 1999

Drew walked north along lonely Route 19 in north Georgia towards the small town of Gainesville. After an hour or so of walking along the deserted road and seeing only two cars pass him, headed in the opposite direction, he came upon a small cluster of wooden buildings on the right-hand side of the road. The main cabin was small and rustic but neat and well built, and surrounded by a dozen or so smaller wooden cabins, each numbered with large, white numerals on their front door.
