Chapter 9

I got dressed in the beautiful outfit that Gae had laid out for me while I showered, and I looked way too good for work. Everyone was going to think that I had gotten a raise. I did not have a choice though because Gae did not want me to go home last night and I would be late if I stopped to get a different outfit. Her clothes were perfect for me, and we even wore the same size shoes. I was now sitting in the kitchen and having the delicious breakfast that she prepared for me.

“Babe, you could drive my car to work, but I would rather drop you off and pick you up so you would be here with me tonight,” Gae said and smiled at me.

“Oh shit…what day is today?”

“Wednesday,” she replied.

“I have to move my car. Street sweeping. I’m going to get a ticket.”

“I could move it for you,” she said.

“You can’t because I will have your car.”

“I could drop you off…”

“And then you’ll have two cars,” I told her.

“You drive my car to work and I’ll let Brax take me to get yours.”

“The car key is in my apartment and I don’t have time to go and get it,” I said.

“Give me the key to your apartment and I’ll get your car key and move the car,” she suggested.

“The key to my apartment?” I asked with a smile on my face. “That’s sexy.”

“I know, right?” she chuckled happily. “I have a copy for you.” Gae opened a box then removed a copy of her house keys and gave them to me. “You have the remote for the garage in my car and I’ll have one installed in yours.”

“I can’t believe this.”

“Still?” she asked and pulled me to her after I put the plate in the sink. “You better believe that I’m your girl. I don’t want us to move slowly. We need to cancel my parents and plan our future this weekend.”

“You can’t get me to do anything other than to meet those people you spoke about on stage. I want to see how much of it is true.”

“As long as you don’t listen to a word they say. They’re all liars,” she said and I laughed.

“I’ll keep that in mind. I’m sorry, baby, but I have to go and it’s a long drive.”

“Okay. What would you like for dinner?” Gae asked as she walked with me to the car. I did not even have my handbag for work – only the purse I brought with me last night.

“Surprise me,” I said and kissed her sweetly. “I’ll see you later.”

“Bye, babe. Miss you already.”

“Miss you too, honey,” I said and then I remembered my apartment key. I gave it to her then took my phone and texted her the entry code. “Don’t steal anything.”

“Just a pair of your sexy panties,” she said and pulled me to her.

“I’m late, Reggae. I have to go,” I said and she laughed at the infrequent use of her official name.
