âSheâs beat up pretty good, boss,â Derp said, trying to keep up with me as I hustled down the stairs. I didnât know where she was, but I guessed my brothers werenât going to keep her in the dungeon with a room full of sex acts happening.
âWhere is she, Derp?â I bellowed.
âSilverâs office,â he responded, clearly out of breath.
Once down the stairs, I took a sharp left and headed for the offices. When Silver had taken on the role as Prez, he had moved across the hall into the office that used to be his fathers, while I took his room. Halfway down the hallway, I stopped abruptly, grabbing the doorknob and forcing it open.
Candy sat in the closest chair, tissues up her nose, and Dumpster holding an ice pack over her eye. It was clear that more than a few of her fingers were broken, she had bruises around her neck, and sheâd been beat up pretty severely. Thankfully, nothing from the outside looked terminal. I just hoped there wasnât any internal bleeding.
âWhat happened?â I growled out, the sex induced beast transofrming into rage fueled.
âMarcus found your note and decided to teach me a lesson,â Candy wheezed. Her pimp had clearly choked her hard enough to damage her windpipe.
âIâm glad you came here,â I responded, although my tone probably didnât convey happiness. âWhere is Marcus now?â
Candy shrugged. âI kicked him hard enough in the balls that he dropped, and I ran.â
I couldnât say I wasnât a little bit proud of the young woman in front of me. It wasnât easy to get away from your pimp, and she had managed to do so on her own. I also realized I had just put the entire club in jeopardy by giving her our information. This would need to be dealt with, and swiftly.
âWhere does Marcus stay?â I asked her.
âCouple of blocks from where you found me before. He has a warehouse where he keeps his regular girls, and a basement where he keeps the ones in transit.â
I pinched the bridge of my nose, pure and unadulterated anger filtering through every single ounce of my being. We had just stopped Hornetâs sex trafficking ring, and it seemed like there was another one in our city. I didnât like it, and I knew for damn sure Silver was going to blow a gasket.
I pulled out my cell and punched in Silverâs number.
âChrome,â Silver answered shortly.
âHey Prez. We have a little bit of an issue. Thereâs another ring locally,â I told him.
âIâll be home Sunday. Do nothing until I return.â
I pulled the phone away from my ear and looked at it like it had offended me. Never in my life had Silver spoken to me like that. He was short, and clearly angry. A cold chill ran through my body.
What if he knew?
No. No. It wasnât possible. There was no way he could have known.
I blew out a deep breath and looked around the room. Candy, Derp, and Dumpster all looked at me, waiting for our next move.
