Naamonasib hai mian, waqt-e sehargaah naheen

Aadmi peer chun shud, hirs-e jawaan migardad

Khwab dar waqt-e sehargaah giraan migardad

—and the critic stood gawping red-faced.

A very lean man with a very dark complexion, he was caricatured for his colour by Shah Naseer in this verse:

Aye khaal-e rukh-e yaar tujhe theek banata

Per chod diya hafiz-e Quran samajh kar
