Agreement at Tartu:

The Treaty of Tartu, signed on October 14, 1920, recognized Finland's independence from Soviet Russia. In addition to defining the international boundary between the two nations, the treaty also resolved several commercial and economic disputes.

Ongoing Conflict:

Finland battled the Soviet Union in two World War II conflicts: the Winter War (1939–1940) and the Continuation War (1940–1944). (1941-1944). The Continuation War began when Finland joined Nazi Germany to fight the USSR. The Moscow Armistice concluded the match and required Finland to make territorial concessions to the Soviet Union.
