“Okay,” Hope said, wiping her hands on the thighs of her jeans as she headed back into the two-story house. “All Tetrised in and tied down.”

The two women who had worked as hard as she had that day were standing in the empty space, a quiet settling over them both. They shared a quick glance before Grace sighed. “Lots of firsts in this house.”

Libby smiled and stepped over to her, Grace’s arm immediately moving up around her shoulders, pulling the smaller body into her own. “Definitely.” The two women shared a long look, an entire conversation exchanged before a soft kiss served as punctuation.

“How long did y’all date before Libby moved in?” Hope asked, taking in the empty space. It looked so different with all their belongings gone, pictures taken down. Removing all the love and joy that made it a home truly left it a house.

“Four months?” Libby said, looking to Grace with drawn eyebrows. “Five, maybe?”

“Maybe.” Grace grinned, looking from her wife back to Hope. “But she was here all the time, so almost immediately, technically.”

Libby grinned over at a wide-eyed Hope. “I knew,” she said simply.
