Two hours later I was sitting with both Monica and Edward hung up on chains naked in my warehouse. I stared at them both as they started to come out of the poison. They still couldnât move, but they could talk.
âArghhh...Joaquin, I love you,â Monica screamed and cried trying to get me to let her go. I picked up the machete and walked up to Monica as she tried to get out of the chains, but there was no leaving this building besides in a body bag.
âYou had your chance, now you must die.â
âPlease...I beg you, let me go and you won't hear from me again,â Monica pleaded as I ran my hand across her thigh. I used to enjoy what was between them, but the sight only brought misery and regret now.
âThat I doubt, but I will give you a choice.â
âAnything, Iâll take it,â Monica said, not knowing what I was about to bring up.
âThen youâll die second.â I waved the machete in the air.
âAhhhâ¦â she gasped as I plunged the machete across Edwardâs chest. As blood spilled out, Monica started crying and throwing up as Edward screamed and passed out.
âNo one can hear you, Monica.â I took Edwardâs legs off, then dropped the machete to the floor, wiped the sweat off with the handkerchief from my pocket.
âJoaquin, you know me,â Monica cried out as I started to walk toward her.
âYou know I donât tolerate disrespect.â I grasped the bottom of her chin and stared into her eyes.
âI donât want to die,â Monica whimpered.
âShould have thought about that before confronting my wife.â
âYou...You...Aghhhh,â she screamed as the snake I picked up out of the box that Gael brought out and placed next to her feet slid around.
âDonât fight it, let it happen naturally,â I said as I placed the snake in a bag. Gael lowered her down from the chain and the bag went over her head as she screamed and cried.
âAghhhhâ¦â Monica twitched, then her limp body fell over.
âFinish her off,â I said and left the warehouse to hop in my car to go home and shower. Forty minutes after making it home at the new house I received a message from my tech guy that Ciro was spotted coming out of the hotel. Antonio said his people were watching him and this was my chance to grab him without interruption.
I dialed Gaelâs number while I hopped in the shower.
âYeah,â Gael said, with loud music coming through the phone.
âOur guest arrived today,â I said in code through the phone.
âPerfect, Iâll have dinner reservations texted to you,â Gael responded and hung up before I could ask about the music in the background. I had a weird feeling so I called my sister.
âJoaquin! I miss you,â Alessandra said excitedly. Loud background music made it difficult to hear her.
âWhere are you, Alessandra?â I questioned, giving her a chance to be honest.
âOut with friends,â she replied.
âWhat friends?â I turned the knob up hotter, to let the steam fill the room.
âSome friends from school,â Alessandra spoke.
