“Was that Althea?”

“Yeah,” he called out, kicking the door closed and putting the bags down. “While you were sending emails, I called and asked her to run a few errands for me.”

“For what?”

“These,” he answered, handing her a bouquet of irises.

“They’re beautiful. Thank you,” she said.

He kissed her softly. “I also asked Althea to pick up a few things you probably didn’t bring with you.”

Her brow furrowed in question.

“Like a swimsuit,” he said, grinning. “And some other stuff that you might need.”

“That’s so thoughtful of you. But you know what?” Lucy asked with a raised brow.

“What?”

“I hope I’m the only one wearing a swimsuit because I was kind of looking forward to you not wearing one,” she said, picking up the bags and running across the living room to the bedroom.
