Fifteen
Hands cupping his face, I pull him forward and he comes without complaint. He lets my lips brush against his, but unlike his promise, he doesnât kiss me back. Not straight away. Instead, he lets me kiss him. My lips moving over his in tender caresses.
With every drag of my lips against his, my need for more escalates.
I want him to kiss me back.
I need him to kiss me back.
But eyes closed, and with just an uptick in his breathing, he gives me nothing more.
Pulling back, I bring him into focus, the desperate pants of my breath echoing with his.
âYou said youâd kiss me back.â
âI did,â he admits. The thick line of his Adamâs apple bobs up and down. âHanging by a thread here, dove. I so badly want to touch you, but I donât want to push you.â
âTouch me,â I combat desperately. âPlease.â
Hands rubbing roughly down his face, he groans quietly, the violent need in the sound making me shift on the spot.
âMove closer to the edge.â Thereâs a softness to his tone, a quiet coax that tells me Iâm safe. That he wonât hurt me.
I shift along the couch, stopping as my butt rests against the edge.
Sitting on his heels before me, his eyes skate over my face, over my body. A lazy smile pulls at his lips, the lids of his eyes hooded in appreciation. Teeth skating over his bottom lip, he pulls at it, the skin whitening with his bite.
âYouâre in charge, dove. You say go, we go. You say stop and we fucking stop.â
âOkay,â I murmur, the anticipation of him touching me almost too much.
âIâm gonna kiss you now.â
âOkay,â I repeat, making him smile.
Raising up, his large hands bracket me, pushed into the couch at my sides. He doesnât touch me, not with his hands. Not yet.
His eyes, his breath though, they bathe me in his lust. The hooded gaze honed solely on me. His breaths; short and sharp, nostrils flaring slowly with every shuddered exhale.
His arms are rigid in their positioning, like marble, unmovable. The muscles of his biceps protruding heavily, the veins along his arms thick and visible. Theyâre strong. Stronger than me, but Iâm not put off by it, not with Tripp. Instead, I let my gaze run over them in favor, my own hands itching to move, to touch him.
âThings you need to remember.â His whispered words kiss my lips, so close I could taste him if I wanted.
âYou never have to ask permission to touch me. That clearance is yours without condition.â
Starting at his wrists, my palms meet the soft warmth of his skin. Lifting my gaze, I settle it upon his, letting my hands drift upward, feeling him as I go. His eyes track over my face over and over again in a slow and steady rhythm of affection.
âSecond, this, what weâre doing, is supposed to feel good, better than. Any point it feels anything other than that, you tell me, and we put our brakes on.â
âBrakes on,â I echo.
