How can I refuse her?

She is inches away from me, with one of her hands pressed up against my chest while her other hand is on my arm. There is a fire in her brown eyes that makes my breath catch. My hands itch to caress her flawless skin. I want her to get closer so I can ravage her mouth, my thought shocks me but the words that come out of hers are even more shocking.

Ambassador Solovyov is an old friend of my parents. I haven’t seen him since I was a little boy living with my parents in Western Europe. Since he has relocated to the consulate in New York, he has been sending me invitations to various events, I guess for old time’s sake. I have always politely declined due to various responsibilities at the hospital. I have no idea what does the spunky brunette, with her mouthwatering body pressed up against mine right now, want with the sixty-year-old diplomat?

Of course, I have my suspicions. Ambassador Solovyov is an important man and given the current frosty political climate, there are a lot of people who would want to hurt him. Yet whatever she says, I believe her. During my years working abroad, I have come across a fair share of duplicity and espionage. I am no stranger to danger. I can tell that she isn’t a spy, but she is definitely coming up against someone or something much bigger than her. I believe when she says that it’s a matter of life and death and that she just wants to talk to Solovyov.

Of course, I know that I’m in deep trouble when with one smoldering kiss from her and I’m already a goner.
