"I promise you'll like it", he said, as I felt his rough hand on my shoulder.

I turned to face him. "I don't want to."

And the next thing I knew, he grabbed my wrist as hard as he could and reached for the syringe that still had some remaining heroine in it.

I tried to get out of his grip, but he was too strong. He then grabbed my other wrist, and as hard as I tried, I couldn't get away. He was just too strong. And I was just no match for him.

"Cal, please", I said, terrified, not only of him, but also of the heroine he was holding. And what he was planning on doing with it.

Because both were a threat in different ways. Cal was a threat physically and emotionally, as a wrath could come down upon me at any moment for not doing what he wanted me to, which seemed to me was to try to force me to take heroine. And the heroine, itself, was a threat because I had always had a deep fear of any type of drugs and alcohol. I had always been afraid of getting addicted to substances, of any kind, even from even just one use. And I had seen first hand, the devastating effects drugs and alcohol could have on a person. And I wanted no part of it. No part at all.

But for some reason, by grace of God, he let go of my wrists, and slumped back in the chair, as he began to enter into a trance-like state, as the effects of the heroine began to kick in. "Bitch", he muttered, as his skin began to flush, his pupils constricted, and his breathing slowed. And soon his words became jumbled, an indication that his thoughts were becoming muddled. He then closed his eyes, as the drug completely overtook him.
