Chapter Seventeen

Mackenzie

“I can’t believe I get hours with you tonight,” I say excitedly to Haven when he lifts the covers and climbs into my bed near midnight. He waited until Carson was asleep before sneaking out of the guest house and into the main house without Wagner noticing. “Are there any cameras at the guest house?” I ask in concern.

“No, I’m not stupid,” he replies when he reaches over and grabs my hip to pull me to him in the center of the bed. He’s so big he takes up more than half. Before he got into bed, he took his clothes off, everything except for his snug fitting boxer briefs that emphasize his enormous package.

“I didn’t say you were,” I whisper against his lips before they brush over mine.

“No sex tonight,” Haven warns.

“I didn’t ask you to sneak into my room for sex,” I huff. Throwing my leg over his so that our lower bodies line up a little closer, I say, “Well, not just sex.”

“Mackenzie,” he growls as his big palm comes down on my ass cheek and gives it a squeeze before removing my leg from his body.

“We’ve done almost everything else,” I remind him. “So when, Haven?”

“When it’s more than just a distraction you’re looking for, then maybe you’ll be ready. And I can’t be seduced before then either, so stop trying.”

“I’m not trying to seduce you. Virgin here,” I remind him, pointing my finger at my chest. “I have no moves.”

“You have a few moves,” Haven responds with a sexy grin. “A weaker man would’ve given in by now.”

Groaning, I say, “Why couldn’t you be a weaker man?”

“Why are you in such a hurry to lose your virginity, duchess? You get one time, and then it’s gone and you can’t get it back.”

“Because I have needs and I’ve been waiting for so long,” I tell him. “I feel…empty.”

Frowning, Haven tells me, “And you’ll be empty again as soon as it’s over. I won’t be able to stay inside of you forever.”

“You could try,” I tell him as I throw my leg over his hip again to rub my center over his swollen bulge.

Cursing under his breath, he says, “That’s exactly what I’m afraid of.” Placing a kiss on my forehead as he returns my leg to me once again, he says, “Now get some sleep.”

“You’re bossy,” I tell him as I roll over and put my back to him.

“You keep doing what I tell you, so you must not mind too much,” Haven says when he throws his arm over my waist and pulls me to him, so we’re flush against each other.

The front of his big, hard body makes me feel warm and happy, which is probably why, as soon as I close my eyes, I fall fast asleep.
