Just then something happened that never happened to Harold before.

Coming from behind them a bird flew right over and at the same exact time that same type of bird flew through the rectangle.

Cardinals. Harold thought, “What are the chances of that?”

It was almost like there was a three-dimensional shadow of the bird inside his head. He wondered if there could be three-dimensional shadows.

He wondered if there was a way to make a shadow darker.

And if so—why would anyone want that?

The thought the cardinal brought Harold was that maybe Tinga was going to leave him alone on the moon.

But he thought—does it really matter? He’s in a dream. He felt that it still mattered. He didn’t want to be left alone on the moon.

They continued to walk hearing their footsteps.

In the distance Harold swore he heard the ocean like he did when he was in the room at the cemetery with Elizabeth.

The beauty of a dream, life minus logic.

Even in life lots of times there is no logic. Lots and lots of times. Lots of times.

He thought if he ever met God, if there was a God, he would say to him:

“Where’s the logic?”
