After my enjoyable wake-up call from Elias, he let me use his shower since I hadn’t been home after coming over Friday. It was disappointing when he declined to join me, because I loved being wet and naked with a sexy guy. The main reason I hadn’t insisted he change his mind was that I refused to be pushy or rush him into something he was uncomfortable with. It sounded like both of his ex-boyfriends had constantly done that to him, and I wasn’t about to be the third asshole on that list.

The other benefit was I could jerk off to a fantasy of pleasuring him while surrounded by the scent of his incredible ocean-scented body wash. It made me want to make out with him on a beach after giving him a sensuous massage to put sunscreen all over him.

Once I got dressed, I found him at the kitchen table on his phone. He looked adorably preppy in a lavender polo and faded jeans. Since being bold had served me well so far, I bent down to give him a gentle, lingering kiss. It was a sweet, perfect moment that made me realize how hard and fast I was falling for Elias. Elias rubbed the back of his hand as he glanced away from me. “She always checked them over breakfast because she enjoyed starting out her mornings with positivity and possibility. She got so excited whenever their predictions came true. I used to think it was ridiculous and hokey, but once she was gone, I missed her excitement about them. It probably sounds sad, but reading them every morning makes her feel closer.”

I sat down next to him and guided him to look at me. “No, it’s sweet.”

“I’m sure they’re written by some lady into healing crystals and mystic energy. It’s illogical, but sometimes astrology has just enough accuracy to almost make me wonder, you know?”

Elias had no idea how far off base he was. The truth was, I had been writing the horoscopes on Signs of the Times for three years. My aunt was their IT manager, so she had recommended me for the position after their last person had to quit suddenly. Since one of my majors was creative writing, I decided it would be a fun part-time job. It was easy to forget that people read them and that they had a meaningful impact on them.

Refocusing my attention, I teased him, “Like predicting I would be a stranger who
