March arrived, and I struggled through the hardest month of the year for me. For the big holidays, I become wrapped up in the boys’ enthusiasm and spirit. It is nearly impossible not to find a way to be thankful for the moment, for the blessings I still have. But March, our anniversary month, was all for us. Just Lou and I. Each year, regardless of the fact that we were financially decimated, we would find a way to celebrate. And the anticipation would carry us through the month. The first year in our little trailer, we had a budget of minus ten dollars to party it up. So we cranked the heat, made some frothy, fruity drinks. Put on summer wear and blasted Jimmy Buffet. Voilà. We were in the islands again. We honeymooned all weekend.
