CHAPTER TWELVE
Nash
âHand me the feeler gauge, will you?â Jed stretched his arm behind him and flipped his fingers open and shut.
I rolled my eyes. âNow youâre just fucking with me. I might know zip about engines, but you canât tell me thereâs a thing called a feeler gauge.â I stepped up behind him in the pit. âUnless, of course, you mean this feeler gauge?â I slid my hand around his hip and down the front of his coveralls, the sleeves once again tied loosely around his waist. In the heat of the workshop, Jed was bare-chested and . . . commando.
I knew that little morsel because our first kiss, only seconds after I showed my face in Jedâs workshop, had pretty much gone nuclear. The rest was history. According to Jed, heâd added make out in the workshop pit to our growing to-do list, and I was happy to oblige. An armful of greased-up and seriously-determined Jed was a gift from the car gods, and you donât fuck with those.
With his junk in hand, I squeezed firmly and smiled at his answering groan.
âMmm.â He wriggled his arse back into my groin. âAs good as that feels and as much as Iâd like to see the look on the faces of my petrolhead friends when I try to explain that particular interpretation, I actually do need that gauge. Find the thing that looks like a metal fan.â
âSpoilsport.â I grabbed a handful of his arse and kissed the nape of his neck just because I could. âYou sure you donât want to play mechanics and dashing men in automobile distress?â
He choked out a laugh. âAs oddly arousing as that sounds, once you find me that gauge, Iâm done for the day, and a beer sounds mighty good about now, certainly before any potential role-play shenanigans.â
I laughed. âWe really need to talk about your priorities.â I went in search of the damn gauge and slapped it in his hand.
âYeah, well, you try deep throating with a mouth like sandpaper.â He popped a kiss on my lips and disappeared back under the engine, and I had to admit, he had a point.
I leaned against the edge of the pit and watched him finish whatever he was doing. As much as I wasnât a car guy in the slightest, through Jed I was learning to appreciate the classics, and even I could see his Cutlass was going to be a beauty. Watching him work had been a surprisingly erotic way to pass the time, but an hour down the track, I was keen to get him out from under that car and into a shower . . . preferably with me.
Unfortunately, my luck was out, and I was banished to the kitchen while Jed cleaned himself up. I tried not to read too much into that, figuring weâd moved pretty damn fast the night before for a guy whoâd done no more than kiss another man sometime back in the Stone Age. He laughed at
