Chapter Nineteen

"Hey, Mr. Nelson," Doctor Kahil greeted me as I walked inside his office. "It's nice to see you, you look good," he took a seat behind his oak desk. Picking his chart up he flipped through a few pages and placed the folder down on his desk.

"How are you," he asked me with a questionable eye.

"If you mean am I ready to be released then I'm feeling damn good,” I tried to smile knowing I wasn't exactly one hundred percent.

"You know I would love to release you from my care but I have to consult with your physical therapist for her analysis."

"Who? Nurse Wilson."

"Yes, and from her records she has written down you haven't been attending your sessions. Care to explain?"

"Well it's like this Doc." Really wanting to say because your Nurse has been stalking me that's why. But instead I said, “I just felt that I was ready, and didn't need any more of that exercising shit, you know what I mean?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Nelson, I can't excuse you until you're cleared by my Nurse. Matter of fact," he got on his phone and sent a page. "Nurse Wilson, would you come in here for a moment. "

"Doc, I don't think that is necessary," I tried to convince him. "Because I feel..."

"Yes, Doctor,” Jessica came in looking as fine as she wanted to be, cutting me out of sentence. "You wanted to see me," she walked up to his desk not even looking my way. Damn, she smelled good. And I couldn't lie even though I thought she was a little over the top with things she was still as fine as she wanted to be.

"I have Mr. Nelson here, and I am trying to decide if he's ready for

release."

"Well, Doctor," who now gave me an ounce of her attention looking my way, she smiled. "I really don't think that would be a good idea. Because lately I haven't been seeing Mr. Nelson, and truthfully I can't give you that analogy, because I just haven't seen any progress," she gave me a short smirk and then focused her attention back to Doc.

"So how long?'' he scratched his head with the ink pen he had in his hand.

"Let's say two more months, maybe less, according to how well he performs," she now had that professional demeanor going on.

“Come on, two months, I feel perfect. I'm in damn good shape. See," I tried bending over touching my toes.

"Aaah, woooh!” I bellowed out.

"Okay, that does it, two months it is," he said, signing off on my paperwork. Jessica just smiled. Writing down a memo on her pad she snatched it loose and handed it to me. "I'll be expecting you," she gave me the look like, ‘what, you thought you were getting away that easy'. "Is there anything else Doctor, because I have a patient waiting on me."

"That's it, I really appreciate your input, you keep up the good work," he sat back down as Jessica walked out without uttering another word.
