“You brought me to the Vanderbell’s Business Center?” Julia folded her arms as a pout formed on her lips. “Or at least it used to be a business center? It looks like it got a facelift.”

“That’s not a swanky enough description for a joint like this.” Bobbi swung open the door. Demi Lovato’s voice greeted them from the various speakers overhead.

Julia flopped the sleeves of the baggie hoodie in the air. “You do realize that I’m naked underneath these very long clothes?”

“Unlikely I’d forget that.” She shot a wink in Julia’s direction. “Come on. It’s darker inside.” Bobbi laced their fingers together, pulling her through the crowd. “This is Binary. A swanky tech club that meets all your business needs. A laptop bar, a charging station, printers, and faxes from the 1980s are hidden in some back room for those who like to cosplay Halt and Catch Fire, and it’s all complete with tech-inspired cocktails. Best part—gaming consoles.” They stopped at one of the vacant high tops facing a wall of flat television screens.

“How do you know about this?”

“The club info channel runs on a loop.”

Julia eyed the screen in front of them and shot a wry smile at her. “Mario Kart?”

“I figure it’ll be a good lesson for you.” She handed a controller to Julia. “After I smoke your ass, maybe you’ll understand that racing is more than driving in circles.”

“Bring it on, Stretch.”
