Chapter Thirteen - Jenna

His cold demeanor should have been evident after all. I forced myself on him when he didn't have to. My heart seems sour again, so I stand and return to my room. I realize I have to return to that cold dark room again.

I don't want to go there. But where else can I go right now? It is three o'clock, and I have no appropriate clothes on. Maybe Ryan has some decent clothes in his room. Once I am appropriately dressed and out of here, I will think about where to go.

Getting to his room, I dig in the cupboard and feel irritated. How come he has good clothes in his wardrobe, and I have rags? I find one of his hoodies. Stripping my satin top and bottom off, I try it on. I don't care whether it's too large for my frame. It is comfortable enough and smells of the cologne Ryan usually wears. I try on his pants, but they are too loose. Losing the pants, I try on his trunks, which fit me well enough. Comfortable enough, I leave the suite and head for the reception.

Thank God someone is at the reception, "Is there a bar or anything open at this time near here?"

The male receptionist seemed surprised to see me. He stutters, "Yes, ma'am. We have a bar on the 4th floor. Will you be going with Master Hale?"

That catches me off guard, "Master?"

The receptionist is confused at my repetition, so I shake my head at him, "Nothing. Thanks."

Making my way up to the bar, I can't help contemplating. Is Ryan a master? Wouldn't Gwen be a master, too, then? I should have known they are from a super-rich family. I feel so out of sync with Gwen lately. She never told me these things. In retrospect, I haven't told her much for the past two years. But she has been lying to me since long ago. I feel my mood grow worse.

Anyway, I won't let this matter stop me from having fun anymore. I am going to get drunk today.

Just as I arrive at the bar, I realize I have nothing on me. Not my credit card or my phone. I forgot I don't have them with me since Charles' incident. Confused about what to do, I hear someone say, "Hey. You're the woman who has been living with the Hales, right? How come you're down here alone?"

I turn to find a familiar man but can't place him. He seems handsome and well-kept, "You know Gwen and Ryan?"

The man grins, "Of course. We go way back. We were childhood friends."

"Is that so?"

I still don't know Ryan well enough for him to tell me about such things, but Gwen never told me many things, either.

Then he extends his hand, "My name's Eric. What's yours?"

Fuck the siblings. Throwing caution to the wind, I return the handshake, "Jenna."

Eric grins, bringing my hand to his lips, and kisses it, "Jenna. How about a drink? It's on me.
