Chapter 34: Beckley Scores
4:29 P.M.
Vanmer Stadium
I had fed Francine a few muscle relaxers and knew that she was in la-la land, sleeping the afternoon away. It gave me enough time to make the walk from her apartment to Vanmer Stadium so I could enjoy the live game between the Vipers and the Southwest Steamers. I had a thousand dollars on the Steamers, and hoped to win it back, plus some.
The first quarter was a break for me. The Vipers scored two touchdowns.
The second quarter was a little better. Joey Mansford, the Southwest Steamersâ quarterback, tipped the ball to Clint Cutter, the teamâs fullback, and the Steamers scored six points. Then Dash Pinkerton, a gruff little fucker with the cutest boy-like face, kicked the ball through the goalposts and added another point to the score.
Half-time allotted me enough time to eat one hamburger, stadium fries with cheese, and a beer. Afterward, I took a piss, found my seat again near the fifty-yard line, and watched the third quarter unfold.
Things were not looking good for my thousand dollars on the line. The running back for the Steamers twisted his right ankle and had to leave the game. A fumble happened and the Vipers rescued the ball and scored another six points. The quarter ended with the score being, Vipers 20 and Steamers 7.
The fourth quarter of the game offered me promising results and a pocketful of cash. To my amazement, Ross Mitchener, the Steamerâs wide receiver, scored a touchdown, then Quaid Roosevelt, the teamâs center back, did the same thing. The ending score was 21 to 20, and the Steamers took home the win.
* * * *
Francine was fine after the game at Vanmer Stadium. In fact, she was still asleep. I thought about leaving her alone for the night, but couldnât. Instead, her eighteen-year-old look-alike niece, Fretta Foxxe, visited her and decided to crash at the apartment with her aunt. Fretta told me that she was going to keep tabs on her aunt until the next day. I thanked her, slipped her some money in case she needed to buy dinner, and bolted home, knowing that Beckley Roarke was waiting for me.
By nine oâclock I was pooped, arrived home, andâ¦
Beckley was naked and in my bed, ready for a heavy duty round of sex. He was half seated in the center of my queen with his legs parted and an upright dick between his thighs. The first thing out of his mouth was, âI didnât win the game today, but I still have you.â
âThat was sweet. It was still a good game. Sometimes you donât have to win to enjoy it.â
âFuck that,â he said. âI always want to win. Whatever gave you that idea?â
I pulled my clothes off, got completely naked, and jumped in the bed beside him. We kissed for a minute or two, and then I pulled away from him.
âWhatâs wrong?â he asked, stunned by our intermission.
I scanned his six-three frame again and all its pleasurable muscles. My stare caught his stare, and I said, âI just want to make sure youâre real, Beckley.
