We walked and was greeted by a 2016 Audi R8. FANCY. “Beautiful car.” I complimented.
“You are beautiful.” He challenged causing me to blush.
He opened the door and we went on our way. I was unsure where we were headed.
“Where to?” I decided to ask.
“You’ll see!”
Within 20 minutes, we arrived and what seemed to be some secluded cabin like area. I started to worry a bit, until I noticed others headed there as well.
“What is this place?” I asked.
“It’s a poetry and Jazz spot I came across with a colleague a while back. Pretty nice, with awesome food. Figured you’d like it.” I smile and nodded.
We began walking with his hand on the small of my back. I blushed at his manners, it was refreshing.
“Hello, welcome to Poetic Vibes, do you have reservations?” the hostess asked.
“Yes, Bryce.” His responded.
We were led to a small, but big enough table right near the stage. This was beautiful. It wasn’t what your normal poetry spot would be like, it was very elegant like.
“This place is beautiful.” I said.
“Glad you like.”
The waitress came with wine and our food, which was awesome. We were engaging in an awesome casual conversation when it grew silent for a while.
“So Ms. Kya, when were you going to tell me you were this big club owner?” He joked. I swallowed my wine hardly and chuckled nervously.
“How’d you know that?” I asked.
“Well, I tend to do research on things I’m interested in.” he smirked.
“Is that right?” I asked.
“Yes, I want you Kya. I really do.” I blushed.
“Yes, I own a few clubs. One here, Alabama, and Louisiana.”
“Really? How you manage to do that living here?”
“I have family managing them in each state.”
“That’s pretty cool. Very impressive.”
“Impressive?”
“Yes, a young business woman. It’s intriguing.”
“Thank you Matt.”
“So, if you don’t mind me asking. Your daughter’s father? Is he in the picture?” He asked. I knew this question would come up soon.
“No, he’s dead. He was never a part of our lives.”
“Sorry to hear that.” I waved him off.
“Oh it’s fine.” I think he sensed I was uncomfortable, so he took this as the moment to switch the subject.
“So what made you want to be a club owner?”
“It just kind of fell in my lap and I fell in love with being in control of something for once, in a positive light. What made you want to be a partner at Bryce’s Enterprises?” I asked.
“Well I didn’t actually. That’s my father’s dream and his plan. I just sort of went along with it. Graduated from the same college as he did, did pretty much everything he wanted me to do. Here I am. I love the life I live, but it’s not my passion.”
“What is your passion?” I asked.
“To be renowned chef.” He said proudly.
“Wow that’s awesome.”
“Yeah, but that will never happen.”
"Hey, you can do anything you put your mind to. I would go for it. Who says you can’t do both? Partner by day, chef by night? All you need is that lil extra push.
