Built in 1929 as a terminal for Pine Bluff’s first airfield, Toney Field Airport, this building was later sold to the Elks Lodge for use as a club in the early 1960s. The Elks Lodge hosted performers like B.B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Little Milton, Albert King, and others. The club sold dinners upstairs, including fried chicken, chitlins, and pigs’ feet, though patrons had to bring their own liquor. The building burned down, but it was replaced with a new structure in the same general area on US Highway 79 in the early 1970s. (Courtesy of Paul Perdue.)
