“To be able to make others smile is one of the greatest gifts to be blessed with in the world, this gift stems from both tragedy and love both working in harmony to give strangers, and family alike a chance to smile.”

12 Havana Ooh-Na-Na

The four of them walked a few more blocks until they reached a shop called, La Botánica de la Negra Francisca. Apparently, a family that practices Santeria runs it. When they entered the shop, they immediately felt a different vibe then they had at the other two shops. There were a few people in the store, and the salesclerk, who was talking to a young man at the counter.

“This is promising,” Parker said to Ethan, as Mal and Enya separated from them, to go look around and ask questions.

Ethan stepped forward with Parker at his side. “I’m getting a strong feeling.” He looked around the room. “But I can’t tell where it’s coming from, can you?”

Ethan touched a few objects, being as discreet as was possible. Watching him, Parker could see that he had done this before. He really looked at items, picking them up, checking prices. He looked like he was supposed to be a customer. Parker closed her eyes for a moment to try and center herself. She felt the energy that Ethan was referring to. She latched on to it, trying to find its source. When she did, she opened her eyes.

“It’s coming from that man at the counter,” Parker answered. She took a few steady breaths before continuing. “His colors are insane. They’re just bright and ... powerful.”

Ethan turned his focus to the man Parker was referring to. He set the object down he was holding. “We need to talk to him.”

“Yes,” she murmured.

They had barely taken one step when the man turned to them. A bright and cheerful smile on his face. He was wearing shorts with a blue t-shirt and a plaid overshirt with the sleeves rolled up. His hair was short on the sides and a little longer up top. His smile lit up the entire room. He immediately started walking over to them, meeting them halfway. Ethan and Parker stopped. She felt dizzy by the amount of energy this young man was emitting. Ethan glanced at her. He took her hand in his, so she wouldn’t fall.

“Hey there, can I help you?” the young man asked enthusiastically.

Ethan spoke first. “We have some questions about Santeria. An old woman told us to come here.”

He patted his chest with both hands. His whole face lit up. “That’s me you want to see.”

Regaining her equilibrium Parker smiled. “Hi. I’m Parker, and this is Ethan.”

The man smiled again. “It’s nice to meet you both. My name’s Camilo, like my Queen Camila Cabello, except with an ‘O’.” Ethan stared at him blankly, but Parker grinned. He looked at Ethan who obviously didn’t know who the artist was. “You know ... Havana, ooh-na-na,” he sang with a little sway of his hips.

Parker beamed and sang with a salsa move, “Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na-na.
