Chapter 11

Finishing my makeup, I do the last little tease to my hair. Rhett is waiting downstairs with Terry, Helen, and Jay. I’m so nervous about tonight, I mean it’s the first time I will go out in public with him, the press will be there. I asked if I could just skip that part and go straight in with the others, and Rhett said it was okay, but I could tell he really wanted me to be standing next to him. If I wasn’t already scared about going tonight, this is all I need, the world knowing my name now.

I’m wearing my mom’s red dress, and it fits me so perfectly, I love how it looks on me. Picking up my mom’s Chanel perfume spraying some on myself, one last look in the mirror, I leave the room.

Standing at the entrance to the sitting room, Helen nods her head to Rhett; he turns, and I hear him say something under his breath, which makes Jay laugh.

Rhett’s eyes are burning into me, all over again I feel the same intense feeling I had when I first met him.

“If you weren’t my best friend’s girlfriend, I would say a lot more than. Wow,” Jay gives me a wink, I can still feel Rhett’s eyes travelling up a down my body.

“Come on, we will be late,” Terry nudges Rhett, his eyes still burning my skin, “Come on, don’t fuck her now,” Terry warns Rhett, making me laugh a little, as the three of them walk out of the room.

“Don’t fuck her, have you seen her?” Rhett shouts back to him, making me laugh even more. Finally walking over to me, his hand stops just by my arm, he's not touching me. “You look…there are no words to explain how you look tonight. I’m scared if I touch you, I might rip this dress off,” Rhett smiles at me. I love the boyish smile of his.

“Please don’t it’s my mother’s dress,” I whisper to him, as the intense level is reaching a point where I want him to wrap his arms around me, kiss me like it will be the last time he will ever touch me.

“Then I will have to find a way to take this red dress off,” he moves closer to my ear, “Slowly.” His finger gently moves down my skin, making my inhale.

“Now you’re going to make me uncomfortable all evening; I can’t wait to get you in our bed.” Rhett takes a step forward, moving me back with him, my back hits the wall, my hands-on Rhett’s upper arm. “Where I plan to play, and I want to play hard.” He bits my earlobe as he moves away from me.

My eyes not leaving his, the hunger to touch me in ways he’s thinking about, the passion he wants to show me tonight, are all shouting at me.

“I’m coming in,” I hear Jay shout, turning around to see him, with his eyes covered with his hand, “is it safe?” I look over to the door and Jay’s peeking through his fingers.
