Chapter Eight
Holly
Holly woke up with a soft sigh. Every joint and limb on her body screamed satisfaction. The duvet covered her naked body, albeit partially. The curtains were drawn to keep out the light; the bedstand lights were still on.
Happiness and satisfaction surged through Holly all of a sudden. It was so new and powerful that she wondered if she had ever been truly happy and satisfied. She had certainly not felt this way in college. This little town of Mistletoe had changed her a lot for good. She muttered a wordless thanks to her grandmother for bringing her home even when she was already gone.
She looked at Charles beside her, sleeping softly. Air escaped from his nostrils and parted lips as he snored a little. His hair was tousled; a few strands fell across his face. Holly leaned over and ran her fingers slowly across his muscular, strong jaws, feeling his scanty and quite prickly beard. A smile lit up her face.
When she was done admiring Charles, Holly walked down to the kitchen and started brewing coffee. Her grandmother had left quite a collection of recipes for her in the drawers. She hadn't started trying some of them, but the coffee she found was so wonderful she had almost finished the bag.
While waiting for the coffee to brew, Holly stared out at the window. Snow descended, covering Mistletoe like a white blanket. It was such a beautiful sight to behold. Snowing in Boston made life difficult; the racing cars and foot traffic turned the snow to slippery mud. It was not like that in Mistletoe as it somehow made snowfall look enchanting.
Soon enough, Holly carried two cups of coffee to her bedroom and found Charles awake when she walked in. She dropped the cups on the bedstands.
âCome here,â he uttered, pulling Holly back on the bed and kissing her ferociously.
She giggled afterward, wringing around the sheets like a cat. âWoah, someone woke up with a desire,â Holly teased, causing Charles to kiss her once more. Memories of last night ran through her mind. Her first time had been nearly perfect. It wasn't everything she had always imagined, but it was beautiful, unique, and completely mind-blowing.
âLook what you do to me,â he said gruffly, his voice filled with hunger and passion.
âReally? Did I do something to you?â she asked.
Charles smiled against her lips. âFrom the very first day I met you, youâve always made my heart pound. I canât believe that you are actually in my arms right now,â he said, pecking her neck this time.
âReally?â she replied, giggling, recollecting the first time they met. He had his Taser thrust towards her and ready to take her down. âYou didnât think that I was a thief?â she prodded mischievously.
âI thought that you were a sexy thief,â Charles replied, pulling her closer. His engorged crotch pressed against hers, turning her on. Holly straddled his thighs and kissed him back with similar ferocity. Making love in Mistletoe while the snow was falling outside was a dream she didnât want to wake up from.
