7 Draw the Hands, Knees and Clothing Details

You can refine the hands into individual fingers, but remember that chibi fingers are usually very short and stubby. A number of curving horizontal lines at the waist helps convey wrinkles in the clothing. I added stitching lines along the hem of the skirt to match the hoodie. And it never hurts to draw a couple lines on the legs to add structure to the knees.

8 Ink the Drawing

You know the drill, get your pen and ink all those lines. After the ink has dried, you can erase all the pencil work.

Many of the illustrations in this book benefit from a splash of added color, but with a panda costume you can get away with just black and white. In fact, it’s kind of a requirement!
