Chapter Seven
RHETT
After a few minutes of walking around the party, I find him in the kitchen, chatting up some blonde in a sexy cop costume. Heâs leaning against the large marble countertop, and sheâs hanging off him like a cheap accessory. Being the pathetic little shit he is, heâs eating it up, fueling his ego like he didnât already disappoint one girl tonight with his micro dick and middle-school sex skills. The fact that he has the balls to be already entertaining another chick after treating my girl the way he did, using her the way he did, pisses me off.
I press my back against the wall nearby, crossing my arms over my chest while I watch and wait for my chance to strike.
It doesnât take long.
As if sensing how much of a scumbag Jonah is, another girl pulls her away from him, keeping her untrusting eyes locked with his. I grin, thankful I wonât have to waste another two minutes of my life watching him plow through a second girl tonight.
Clearly annoyed by the cockblocking friend, Jonah lifts his pumpkin mask over his head and storms outside, away from the crowds of people and towards the fire pit. He sparks up a joint, and its scent travels in the cold wind behind him, hitting my nose and giving me an idea of how I want to play with him.
He lowers himself to a log beside the fire upon my approach. I decide I no longer need to keep myself hidden in the shadows. My heart races with anticipation and excitement to teach dear Jonah here what happens when we touch things that donât belong to us.
His head turns in my direction as I meet the heat from the flames, and he offers me a nod as he tokes. Sitting down beside him, I stretch my legs out towards the flames, welcoming the way its heat instantly relieves my toes from the night's chill.
âWhat a fucking night,â he chuckles as he kicks his boot around the damp grass.
âTell me about it,â I reply, sliding my mask over my head.
I pull out the zip lock of joints I found earlier on the passed out sponge and rest one between my lips as I spark it. I inhale deeply on it, filling my lungs with the sweet marijuana smoke before exhaling and passing it to Jonah. He takes it and puffs on it a few times before returning it.
âWhere are you from? Donât think Iâve seen you around here before,â he adds.
âI was invited,â I say coolly.
A coy smirk forms on my face as I inhale on the spliff. My eyes are fixated on the fire as visions of my girl and what he did to her tonight fill my head. I pass it back without taking my eyes off the flickering tips of the dying-out flames.
Once he takes it, I slide my hand into my jacket, gripping the handle of my blade tightly. He hits it, nodding his head at my bullshit story like a gullible puppy, but as he makes to pass it back, he drops it.
