A team of skydivers was another entertaining facet of the Firestone International Air Show. Here, guests watch as an expert parachutist aims for his mark on the lawn. Longtime employees humorously recall how this did not always go as planned, and they sometimes had to send crews out to retrieve wayward skydivers who touched down somewhere other than the park’s intended landing zone.

Another ambitious expansion project in 1975 was the construction of the Paladium, a 7,000-seat concert venue meant to attract top performers. The Paladium opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1975 and immediately lived up to expectations. Some of the biggest names who performed during that first season include Frankie Valli, Chubby Checker, Linda Ronstadt, the Righteous Brothers, Ray Stevens, Neil Sedaka, and Tanya Tucker.
