Chapter Eleven

“Xavina Devereaux?” I call out to the curly haired student walking off campus.

“Do we have a plan here?” Oz asks me.

“Just follow my lead,” I whisper.

Xavina’s head snaps up causing her curls to bounce. “Yeah?” she asks, pulling a headphone out of her ear. She walks over to us.

“I’m Wraith Thanason. This is my friend Oz. I was hoping I could talk to you about something,” I say looking around. “I’m just looking to see if you could translate something for me, it’s a little sensitive.”

She nods, “I know who you are. Not him, but yeah. I heard about your Grandma, that sucks.”

“Uh, thanks. I was actually hoping maybe we could talk at my shop, whenever you’re not busy. Do you know where Grim Sweets is?”

She cocks her head slightly, “You need me to translate something?”

“Yeah, it’s witchling speak. I asked around and someone told me to look for you,” I say.

“Whatever it is you might have an easier time asking one of my Aunt’s, I’m just a student,” she says.

“Right because I’m sure your aunts are super keen to help the antisocial reaper chic.” I hold up my hands shrugging.

Xavina looks me up and down in my black leather pants, dark purple top and the black cuff on my wrist. She nods. “Unfortunately, you’re probably right. But count me in! How about we go now? I have a little time before my next thing.” She bounces on her feet.

“Okay now is great, you can just follow my car to the shop.” I tell her.
