Chapter Eighteen

I helped Elyse to her feet, but, to tell the truth, she didn’t seem to need much assistance now. She was almost back to normal after crashing through the trees while strapped to my zombie-harpy.

“Quite a lot has happened since the battle,” I said. Let’s return to the camp, I’ll update you as we walk.”

“No,” she said.

“No?”

“Let’s not go back to the camp yet.”

I tilted my head at her, not understanding. “Why not?”

“Well, I remember something else now, something from before the battle.”

“Oh, yeah?” I smiled, remembering our kiss.

“The kiss you gave me,” she said, smiling shyly with the fire of desire crackling in her eyes and burning on her lips. “It was all I could think about the entire time I was fighting. I want more. I want to kiss you again, Vance, but I want to go further. I want to go all the way this time.”

“Are you sure?”

With my other hand, I pulled her waist in close, pressing her lower body against mine so that she could feel the hard urgency of my arousal. Then, as her tongue danced madly in my mouth, I slid my hand from around her waist and reached up to press my fingertips into her firm breast again.
