The breakfast was cooked and ready to be served.
The trail of tennis balls from the driveway, all the way to the living room was also in place.
The decoration company had also done an incredible job with the roses.
Bunches of them were stuck to walls, hanging from the ceiling, and petals, numbering into the thousands, carpeted the living room floor.
The smell of freshly cooked bacon pizza was competing and losing to the smell of fresh red roses, which had permeated the entire house, and amidst all that beauty and fragrance, I sat on the couch, wearing a white summer dress, waiting for Mia to show up.
The decoration company had arranged a few roses to spell #beyondreason on the floor next to the dining table, which had become the official hashtag for our relationship on Social Media.
But the irony was, every tennis ball, starting from the front of the driveway, all the way to the dining table, had a reason written on it, a reason that told Mia why we should work on this relationship, why we were meant for each other, and why the option of giving up did not exist for us.
There was a certain level of nervousness that had entered my heart.
Mia had told me how she did not want to do and be involved with anything that was out of the ordinary in the days leading up to the US Open, and although I hadn't done anything which would take away from her practice time, this was also not something she would normally expect to walk into.
What if she was not in the mood?
What if she had had a very bad training session, pulled a muscle, or read an article about her that had gotten her pissed?
Now that I was thinking about it, I realized there were many things I hadn't anticipated, things that could foil what I had planned in mind.
Whatâs done is done, Olivia. Now just hope for the best.
I decided to scroll some random TikToks to distract my mind.
The first three were cringe, the next three were just TikTok influencers dancing seductively in front of a camera, which I secretly enjoyed, and then the next one was the one that shook my world, and rattled my insides in a matter of a few seconds.
It wasnât a video, but a photo over which the official TikTok profile of TMZ had included a controversial voiceover.
It was a photo of Mia and Keira, sitting side by side on the sidewalk, in front of a popular New York nightclub.
Keira was holding Miaâs chin tenderly with her hand, and looking into her eyes, and it looked like they were about to go in for a kiss.
The voiceover wasnât helping either.
The TMZ reporter was detailing an eyewitness account from inside the club, where Mia and Keira were allegedly dancing very close to each other, hugging and grinding on each other the entire time, and the reporter also mentioned a lot of hand-holding and romantic whisperings into each otherâs ears throughout the night.
