CHAPTER TWELVE

EMMA GROANED AS her alarm shrieked at her. Morning would be so much better if it came in the afternoon. She sighed as she snuggled back into her pillows. She’d love to stay in bed a little longer, but she refused to miss her weekly coffee date with her sister. She hadn’t spoken to Kelly since Monday when they went costume shopping and, as it grew closer to Halloween, she wanted to make sure Kelly was doing all right. Being a loving sister sucks so early in the morning.

Kicking the covers off her naked body, Emma swung her legs over the side of the bed and sat up, her hands gripping the edge of the mattress. She really needed to change their coffee date to later in the day or change her Hump Day festivities. Later in the day. I’m not giving up my sex life for anyone.

She forced herself off the bed and trudged her way to the bathroom, twisting the shower on once she was there. As the water heated up, she took a glance at herself in the mirror, her strawberry-blonde hair a mushed up mess, sticking out on top and to the right. And what guy wouldn’t want to keep me, seeing this hot mess in the morning? I’m soooo hot. She shook her head and stepped into the shower.

Her night with Kirk continued back at his place until two in the morning, He may have been quick out of the gate, but he definitely made several laps around the track. While he wasn’t the strong dominant she hoped for, he definitely pleased her as a lover. He gave and gave and gave and… She sighed as the hot water beat her scalp as she hung her head into the stream. She could still feel his giving between her legs, his hands gripping her shoulders as he pinned her to the bed, driving into her over and over. They swapped positions several times until Emma lost count of all the different ways he fucked her. She only remembered that she enjoyed them all.

Out of the shower, she quickly slipped into a pair of jeans and a dark top, braided her wet hair, and headed for the door. She needed coffee, and she didn’t feel like waiting for her pot to brew. Sooner or later, she would need to buy one of those machines that made it in less than eight seconds. Of course, some mornings, even eight seconds seemed like an eternity.

The first to arrive at the coffee shop, Emma ordered a mocha frappe and then slid into their usual table. She wasn’t lost in thought long before she noticed Kelly weaving her way through the tables, coffee cup in hand, until she was able to sit down, her purse draped over the back of her chair. “And what has you looking so exhausted this morning?” Kelly asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

Emma started to speak, but was silenced as a yawn took over.
