It’s like I’ve been raised in the jungle. I’m okay with the strange and the ill-advised. With pressing the button that reshuffles all the cards. Or the one for big explosions. I’m up for the widower, the orphan, the megalomaniac and the depressive, as long as he’s interesting. The adolescent crisis, which I never had, is brewing. My lack of restraint feels simultaneously heroic and overwhelming to me. I said goodbye to my aunt at six o’clock, and we hugged each other tight. I went down the stairs as fast as I could, enjoying the spectacular return of my motor function. I was back on my feet again. I wouldn’t give up. I wouldn’t admit that, in life, it’s entirely possible to pull the plug on passion, even when it’s at its very height.
