As the days went on, Lena and Victoria had gotten to be better friends, much to Peter’s annoyance. One day, Peter walked down stairs to get his lunch and sure enough, there was Lena. Peter just got fed up with it and stormed out to Jamie’s, deciding he’d rather eat out.

Jamie and Peter went out, had lunch and then went to the movie theatre, which seemed to have become their second home. After the movie had gotten out, they decide to go get something to drink at the diner nearby. After they had ordered, they spent time talking about the movie and just enjoying themselves. Jamie decided to have some fun by spinning around in his stool. After the third or fourth spin, he noticed Anna walking towards the door.

Jamie stopped spinning and slapped Peter on the chest. “Don’t look now, but here comes Anna.”

Peter swung around and looked as she walked through the door. “Nuts.”

Anna came in silently and walked up to the counter. She sat down and got a cola. She seemed to have a sorrowful look on her face.

Jamie gently tapped her. “Hey what’s wrong, Anna?”

“My mother is sick.”

Peter tried to ignore her but was finding it difficult.

“How so?” Jamie asked.

“She got something on the trip to here. She seemed to get better when we get here. It is now getting worse. Now she is really sick.”

Peter finally spoke up. “Why don’t you get a doctor?”

Anna glared at him. “We have, you donkey. He gave her some medicine and said that all he could do for her. He said she needed health document to treat her. So now we have to go to the city but we cannot do that until week next.”

“Oh.” Peter decided it was safer to return to his drink and let Jamie do all the talking.

“So what are you going to do, Anna?”

“We wait and hope she does not get any sicker.”

Jamie got up and wished her luck. He grabbed Peter and they left to follow other pursuits.
