Daylee

I was so happy that Dorienn was able to take my call. I would’ve freaked out if she hadn’t okayed my outfit. The funny thing was, I was the more fashionable one. I just never went anywhere. Most of my clothes still had tags on them. Dorienn was a simple chick. She could make ANY outfit look good. She was that gorgeous!

Nonetheless, I was glad that she had approved of my attire. It was only eleven o’clock, so Lenox wasn’t due for another hour. During that time, I wanted to kick it a bit with Lauren. She couldn’t stay long, because I’d be leaving shortly. I had insisted that she be at my house by ten, but she slow poked her way over and now I didn’t even need her advice anymore.

Ms. Riley was at the school, so I basically had no one to give me their honest opinion. Lauren knew she was dead wrong for showing up an hour late.

“What’s up?” she asked once I opened the loud screen door.

“Nothing. I’ll be heading out in a few, but we can still chill for a second.” I wanted to go ahead and get that part out.

Dori had told me crazy stories about friends falling for their friend’s dudes and I didn’t want this to be the case. I definitely wanted to keep Lenox to herself as long as possible. Lauren was a sucker for a hood dude, and contrary to my standards, Lenox was just that.

Or at least he seemed like a dude from the hood, who’d gotten himself together and made something of his life. I hadn’t even planned on letting him meet Dori, yet. It wasn’t that I didn’t trust my sister. It was for the total opposite reason.

Dori could be a bit protective and I didn’t want her running him off. Plus, I wanted to make sure that we were on the same page before meeting families became involved. I felt that it was only right that we felt each other out before including others. Lenox would be my best kept secret.

“It’s cool. I just wanted to see what you had picked out to wear.”

“I managed, without your help!” I told her.

“I’m sorry boo. I was still in bed at ten. I haven’t been feeling well. I think that I might have a stomach bug.” She rubbed her stomach.

“Well, don’t come near me.” I stepped away from her, causing her to giggle.

“You look nice.” She admired my attire.

“Thanks Pud.” I always called her that.

In the beginning she hated it, but now she embraced it. She had no other choice, because I refused to stop calling her by that name. Without even realizing it, she had started calling me the same thing.

“You’re welcome.” She said before she sat on the couch.

“So where are you going?”

“I don’t know.” I admitted. Lenox and I had neglected to make plans. I guess we’d figure that out along the way.

“When will I meet this guy, Lenox?” she smiled.

“Only time will tell,” I blushed as I went to find my body butter.
