The lights are out, and Chloe and I are in our designated spots to sleep. Sleep should be easy for me after the day I’ve had. But I can’t quit thinking about today. Betty was ready for her coat of primer when I walked into the club finding Chloe with Marcus. I pulled him aside and asked him to watch her while I ran to my place to grab more of my things to stay at her place. He told me to go, he would keep her with him at all times. I left feeling secure, and when I returned, I didn’t even think of going to check on her. I needed to get Betty primed before nightfall. But when I finally finished and went to collect Chloe, I found her in the club with Marcus and also surrounded by other big burly bikers. She had their full attention and was entertaining their every thought. I understood the feeling. Since pulling her to my body in the garage earlier, my every thought has been entertained by her, too. So much so, that it pissed me off to find another captivated audience.

I can remember the look Marcus gave me when he saw me watching her. He stood and came straight to me.

“You better think twice, boy.”

I lied. “The idea has never crossed my mind.”

“Sure, it hasn’t. The idea would cross a priest’s mind.”

He slapped my back and told me, “She’s a great girl. It’s why I’m telling you this. You need to get her out of my club, now. It’s late and my guys have had a lot to drink. The beasts are wanting to come out and conquer if you know what I mean, and I’m only one man with two hands.”

“Chloe, time to go!” I yelled, ordering her as she pouted. It wasn’t hard to tell the men did not like my intrusion. Marcus helped Chloe out of her chair, grabbing her bag and led her in my direction.

“Honey, I enjoyed your visit. You’re more than welcome to come over anytime you want, with Gunner, and during the day.” He stressed the last part while looking directly at me.

What shocked us both was she turned around and got on her toes, stretching her body to give Marcus a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you very much for the sweet tea, the meal, well, everything. And don’t worry, no one will know I was ever here.” Then she put a hand up shielding her mouth but not her words. “Unless idiot here rats me out again.”

“Jesus Christ girl, I really do fucking like you. Now, get out of here.” He slapped her ass on her way out, making her jump and told her, “I said I was too old for you, but never said I was too old to find a way to get my hand on that ass.” She brushed him off with a laugh and walked out.

The second she was out, he wrapped his arm around my neck. “You find that fucking asshole stalking her, and you kill him.
