‘Come for a coffee with us, Rosa,’ Hannah called as the class finally rolled mats and donned sweatshirts and jackets. ‘We’re going to try the new place behind Malik and Malik. It’s only been open a week, but it got a great write-up in The Yorkshire Post; we need to suss out any competition for Tea and Cake.’

Rosa shook her head. ‘Got too much to do.’

‘So have I.’ Hannah placed a hand on Rosa’s arm as she headed for the church hall door. ‘I can’t tell you how much. But this is work – you know, marketing.’

‘No, really.’ Rosa was adamant.

‘Well, don’t forget we have a meeting – a really important one – with Drew and Aditi’s people at six. You have to be there, Rosa; they need to see who’s actually marrying them.’

Rosa turned. ‘Yes, I do need to meet with them. Ask what their motives are for marrying.’

‘Their motives? Rosa, they’re not marrying in church, so there doesn’t have to be a religious bent.’

‘So why are you asking me? Just get in a wedding celebrant. That’s all you need.’

‘They’ve asked for you, Rosa.’

‘How do they know about me? And that’s why I need to know why they wish to marry.’

‘Well, to amass their joint fortunes, I guess?’ Hannah laughed.

‘Hannah, marrying isn’t a business matter. Or a laughing matter.’

‘Rosa, you’re being churchy and supercilious. In fact, you’re beginning to sound like our grandfather.’

‘Oh please, not the Reverend Cecil? I’m not, am I?’

‘Just a little. But I know what you’re going through at the moment.’

‘Sorry. So, I’m assuming they’ve done all the paperwork? They’re not just expecting to troll up on the day and go through checkout like at Aldi?’

Hannah laughed at that. ‘Everything’s in order and ready to go.’ Hannah was proud of her and Tara’s (well, Tara’s as the professional, and very experienced, wedding planner) attention to detail.

‘OK,’ Rosa said almost tiredly. ‘I’ll get Joe’s mum to come over to look after Chiara.’
