Lois and Curt got to their room at the Hyatt and collapsed on the bed. It wasn’t that late, but they were both exhausted from all the emotions of the day.

“What happened with your Mom and Dad? I saw you talking to them,” Lois asked Curt.

“After Dad’s little speech, when he gave his toast, I saw my mom giving me a big smile. So, I went to see what was going on. My dad even apologized for their lack of attention, as he put it. He even mentioned my brother Ken’s name to me, for the first time since he died. They both said they wanted to be part of our life, and my mom offered to take care of Stevie and the new baby.”

“You mentioned the baby? We haven’t got one going yet, you know. And by the way, I think my cycle is about right, if the effect of the pill has worn off. Do you have enough energy for a quickie?”

“I can find the energy. How about that shower?”

“I had a feeling you might suggest that. Let’s get to it, before you lose interest.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever lose interest in you, Babe.”

“I think I like my new name. Babe sounds good. Why are you using it?”

“It just came out after we started talking about having a baby. Babe just made sense. Although I may still want to call you kiddo at times.”

“I like them both. For now, I’ll just call you Lover. So, Lover, let’s hit the shower so we can work on that baby.”

“Sounds good to me, Babe!” Curt said with a laugh.

Both Lois and Curt were too tired for a wild and crazy night. After they’d had a “normal person’s sex,” as Curt called it, they were still too wired from the day to fall asleep. They laid in bed for over an hour, discussing the events of the day.

“Could you believe Steve today? I know my dad helped him with his speech at the ceremony, but I think he ad-libbed the little speech at the reception dinner. He was just so excited, and I think proud, to finally have a real Dad in his life,” said Lois.

“He seems wise beyond his age,” Curt said. “Even though he was emotional, he held it all together. And I was so happy that the judge started the applause for him, after he introduced us.”

“Next on the list of topics, what did you think of Ben?”

“He seems like a good guy. Hard working, blue collar fella, making a ton of money as a lineman. He works on those tall, high tension lines. Tough job!”

“I’m glad you think he’s a good guy. I think Jenny planned to put the moves on him tonight unless Ben starts first.”

“My guess is, Jenny will need to get things started, if that’s what she wants. If I read Ben correctly, he’d be afraid to get too serious until he knows Jenny is receptive to a relationship.”

“I’m sure she wants to get serious with Ben.
